The Quality Agency of the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality has been organising, in the framework of the Patient Safety Strategy, international conferences to further the enhancement of the culture of Patient Safety and the exchange of experiences in this area.

In this context, we have scheduled the 6th International Conference on Patient Safety for the 19th and 20th of October 2011 in Madrid. The Conference will be held simultaneously with the 19th Cochrane Colloquium, which will extend to the 22nd of October.

The title of the conference is: “Scientific evidence for healthcare quality and patient safety”.

This conference seeks to bring together the different elements on which Patient Safety policies are based: research, safe practices, safety culture and training, as well as the role of professionals, patients and citizens in general.

All of this is addressed from a practical approach in order to share experiences at national and international level.
